In the occupied territories, the Russians follow the “Nazi playbook”

Invaders operating in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories torture local officials and, if the latter agree to cooperate, conscript and hire them.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Dutch media Nieuwsuur, reports Ukrinform.

“Russia’s policy everywhere is to turn off the TV, shut down some ISPs and turn on their own TV – that’s where the information war starts. After that, these people , all the local authorities, are being tortured – they are all being held in basements, they are either being killed or demonstratively tortured, specifically so that others can see them. It’s like the Middle Ages!” said the head of state.

He pointed out that the Russian army operates everywhere according to the same pattern, as if it had a “Nazi playbook”.

“They (the invaders – editor’s note) torture them, get rid of them or, if the local authorities agree to work for them, they sign papers and let them work,” Zelensky said.

The president added that the invaders were trying to introduce Russian as the language of instruction in schools in occupied colonies.
