LINCOLN, Ky. (WKYT) – A new distribution facility has opened in southern Kentucky.
Governor Andy Beshear says we continue to see an economic boom emerge from the pandemic in Kentucky. In Lincoln County, he was able to announce even more investments in the Commonwealth.
Pitman Creek Wholesale officially opened its new distribution headquarters on Thursday. It’s a $ 15 million project that officials say has created 60 new jobs at the company.
This brings the total number of employees to approximately 160 inside the new 205,000-foot facility.
The governor pointed out that over the past couple of years we’ve seen a lot of negative points especially around the pandemic, but he says there is another side that we are starting to realize here in Kentucky.
“Hope, optimistic, to see investments that we believe by the end of the week will exceed $ 10 billion in Kentucky this year,” Governor Beshear said. “See more new jobs in green industries to start. It’s incredible.”
The governor said that to date private sector expansions, like the one we are seeing in Lincoln County, have generated more than $ 8.85 billion in investment in the Kentucky economy and created more 12,000 new jobs.
