Nexgen, a subsidiary of Spirit Technology, has become the first Cisco partner to offer the vendor’s new Webex Wholesale offering in its Asia Pacific, Japan and China region.
Launched last week, Webex Wholesale is a new managed services offering offered through a wholesale route to market for partners serving SMB customers. The offering is a one-time commercial agreement between Cisco and channel partners, and includes a self-service platform used to provide managed services for Webex.
In an ASX announcement, Spirit said 81% of Nexgen’s sales will include a Cisco component, with the subsidiary committing to minimum purchases that will support $85 million in total Cisco contract value (TCV) signings.
“Spirit, and in particular Nexgen, have long had a strong sales focus and culture, and this is now coupled with world-class service and support packages,” said Julian Challingsworth, Managing Director of Spirit.

“Managed computing, unified voice solutions and cybersecurity services are all high-growth B2B sectors, and we are confident that our upcoming financial results will reflect the hard work of our team behind the scenes. This agreement is an exciting taste of what lies ahead.
Spirit said the deal will improve the customer experience and also expects it to provide Nexgen with higher levels of retention and satisfaction.
Webex Wholesale is for small businesses with 250 users or fewer, which Cisco aims to help move its installed base of more than 30 million BroadSoft customer seats to the cloud.
The program also features consumption-based billing and offers partners multiple billing options, including an engagement model where the partner would agree to do an agreed-upon Webex business volume over a set period of time for a discounted price via Cisco.
The first managed service packages through the new wholesale channel include Webex Calling, Common Area Calling, Webex Meetings, and Webex Suite.
Based in Sydney, Nexgen provides telephone systems, printers, security cameras and cybersecurity services to small and medium-sized businesses. Spirit Technology acquired the company in March for $50 million, which the company called its largest acquisition to date.
