Windstream Wholesale Lights Direct route from Los Angeles to Las Vegas

LITTLE ROCK, Arch .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Windstream Wholesale, a leading provider of fast and flexible optical solutions, today announced that it has implemented a direct route from Los Angeles to Las Vegas through its Intelligent Converged Optical Network (ICON) architecture.

This new route provides a more direct, lower latency path for Asia PAC (APAC) submarine cables landing in Los Angeles to access Las Vegas’ growing data center ecosystem. With this addition, Windstream now has three routes connecting Los Angeles to the Las Vegas area data center facilities, including Databank, Switch, Cyxtera, and Flexential, among others.

“As more submarine cables land in Los Angeles, there is a huge need for the kind of diverse, low latency connections to national data centers that Windstream Wholesale’s expanding network is intentionally designed to provide. ” said Joe Scattareggia, executive vice president of Windstream Wholesale. . “Windstream is APAC’s gateway to North America and our ICON network is designed to meet this growing demand.

Windstream’s ICON architecture provides an open and disaggregated network infrastructure for wholesale and enterprise technology customers, which includes:

  • Flexible design options, support for extraterrestrial waves and multi-vendor interoperability;

  • More bandwidth, customer-centric design options, and support for multi-vendor interoperability;

  • Zero Layer Analysis and Layer 1 Analysis which enable network health monitoring through Windstream Operator Portal as a single screen network management tool; and
